Welcome to our vision of a self-sufficient backyard, where sustainable practices harmonize with the beauty of nature:
In this eco-friendly oasis, we seamlessly blend water conservation, xeriscaping, natural drainage waterways, backyard and patio gardening, aquascapes, fire and water accents, aquaponics, and hydroponics to create a holistic and regenerative space.
Water Conservation and Natural Drainage:
Our backyard is designed to efficiently capture and use rainwater, incorporating natural drainage systems to prevent runoff. Rain barrels strategically placed collect rainwater, which is then channeled into the landscape through swales and permeable pathways. These elements not only conserve water but also nourish the soil naturally.
Xeriscaping:
We embrace xeriscaping principles, selecting drought-resistant plants native to the region. The landscape is a tapestry of vibrant colors and textures, creating a visually stunning environment that thrives with minimal water requirements. Mulching around plants helps retain moisture, suppress weeds, and enhance soil fertility.
Backyard & Patio Gardening:
Our backyard is a haven for homegrown produce, with raised beds and container gardens flourishing on the patio. Herbs, vegetables, and fruits coexist with ornamental plants, creating a functional and visually appealing space. Vertical gardening maximizes space efficiency, allowing us to cultivate a diverse array of crops.
Aquascapes:
A tranquil pond, fed by rainwater and surrounded by aquatic plants, serves as the centerpiece. Fish and other aquatic life contribute to a balanced ecosystem, fostering biodiversity. The soothing sound of running water complements the natural ambiance, providing a peaceful retreat.
Fire and Water Accents:
Strategically placed fire pits and other accents create cozy gathering spots, encouraging outdoor socialization. These elements not only add warmth but also serve as focal points, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the backyard. The juxtaposition of fire and water elements symbolizes the harmonious balance we aim to achieve.
Aquaponics and Hydroponics:
Integrated into the landscape are aquaponics and hydroponics systems, showcasing the potential for sustainable food production. Fish waste from the aquaponics system fertilizes the hydroponic crops, creating a closed-loop system that minimizes resource inputs. This innovative approach allows us to grow fresh, nutrient-rich produce year-round.
In our vision of a self-sufficient backyard, every element works in synergy to create a space that not only delights the senses but also exemplifies responsible living. It is a testament to the potential for sustainable design to coexist with beauty, fostering a deeper connection between people and the environment. This backyard is not just a place; it's a living, breathing ecosystem that inspires and educates, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.

Landscape bed maintenance is our specialty.
Water gardens can be incorporated into various types of landscapes, including residential gardens, public parks, and commercial properties. They contribute to the overall design and aesthetics of the outdoor environment, serving as focal points or complementary features.
An ideal seedbed is created by a loose and fine soil texture. This enhances seed-to-soil contact, allowing seeds to establish firm contact with the soil, receive adequate moisture, and germinate more effectively.
This large Shumard Oak was planted with a crane! We know what it will take.
